How it works

How to make an RSVP QR code

  1. 01Paste your RSVP linkCopy the address of your RSVP page, wedding website or form and paste it in. The code updates as you type.
  2. 02Word it and colour itKeep “Scan to RSVP” or write your own caption, add a reply-by date, and pick colours that suit your invitation.
  3. 03Download and printSave a PNG for Canva, Word or your printer, or an SVG that stays sharp at any size. Scan it once before you print.

Where to put your RSVP QR code

Guests reply faster when replying takes one scan. A wedding RSVP QR code on the invitation, or one on a party invite, sends them straight to your RSVP page, so nobody has to type a long address or hunt for a link in an old message.

The code made here holds your link itself, with no redirect in between. It works for as long as your RSVP page does, and nothing about it can lapse after a trial or a month.

Good places for the code

  • 1The back of the invitation, or a corner of the front.
  • 2A separate RSVP card, in place of a reply envelope.
  • 3Save-the-dates, so guests can reply early.
  • 4Emails and digital invitations, for guests who read on a computer.
  • 5A sign at the welcome table, for late replies and plus-ones.
Before you print

Make sure it scans on the day

✓

Print it at least 2 cm wide

That is about 0.8 inches. Go bigger on a sign guests read from a distance: 1 cm for every 10 cm away.

✓

Keep it dark on light

A dark code on a pale background scans every time. Light codes on dark paper fail on many phones.

✓

Leave a margin around it

The light border is part of the code. Don’t let text, photos or the edge of the card cut into it.

✓

Use a link that will stay live

The code opens whatever is at the address. Keep the page up until the last guest has replied.

✓

Test the printed proof

Scan the proof with two different phones, in normal room light, before you print the whole run.

✓

Say what it does

A short caption such as “Scan to RSVP” tells guests why to scan it, and older guests trust it more.
